ChandBawdi Is The Most Beautiful Stepwell In India Located In The Village Of Abhaneri
Near Jaipur, Rajasthan. It Is 13 Floor Deep Stepwell. Within The Stepwell, You
Will See The Symmetrical Triangular Structure Of The Staircase Reaching The
Water Surface And You Will Press The Finger Under The Teeth. As Rajasthan Is A
Dry Desert Region, The Construction Of Steps Is Common Here. Chand Bawdi Is The
Oldest Stepwell Of Rajasthan And Probably The Whole Of India, Which Is Still
Alive.

This Deepest Stepwell Of India Was Built By Raja Chanda Or Chandra Of Nikumbha
Dynasty In The 9th To 9th Century. 1200 To 1300 Years Old, This Structure Is
Older Than The Taj Mahal, Khajuraho Temples And Chola Temples But Is Relatively
Newer Than The Ajanta And Ellora Caves. Abha Nagari, The Shining City, Is A
Small Town Situated On The Jaipur-Agra Road, Which Was Settled By Raja Chand. Famous
For The Exciting Stepwells And The Mata Mandir, The Name Of This Town Was Later
Changed To Abhaneri.

The Three Walls Of This Stepwell, Which Is 19.5 Meters
Deep, Are Built To Provide Geometric Shapes. On The Fourth Wall Several Pillars
Have Corridors Built. There Are Two Ailonds, Similar Structures Coming Out Of
The Front, Facing Towards The Stepwell. The Magnificent Statues Of Ganesh And Mahishasuramardini
On The Lower Floor Of The Stepwell Add To The Beauty Of The Stepwell. If You
Look At The West Side Of Chand Bawdi, You Will See A Temple About 100 Meters
Away.

This Domed Temple Is Dedicated To Harshat Mata. In Some Records, Harshat
Mata Has Also Been Called Harsiddhi Mata. She Is Considered To Be The Goddess
Of Joy And Joy. The Original Peak Of The Former Mukhi Harshat Temple Is Built
In The North Indian Civil System. It Is Also Called Mahameru Shikhar. The Peak
Of The Civil System Is A High Cylindrical Form Which Is Found In Abundance In North
India. On Top Of This Peak, There Was A Round Stone Disk Called Amalaka. Currently
The Dismembered Remains Of That Amalaka Are Scattered Around The Temple. The Word
Amalaka Is Derived From A Fruit Called Amla.
